Zero Emission Marine 2030
Zero Emission Marine (ZEM) is a four-year ecosystem project led by Wärtsilä. Our compelling goal is to reach 60% greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction in the maritime by 2030. In addition, all the Wärtsilä Veturi ecosystem products will be carbon-neutral or carbon-negative by 2050.
How does ZEM work?
Rapid actions are needed to fight climate change. We are increasing the speed of green transition of Wärtsilä portfolio and ecosystem through strategic actions. The ecosystem concept will be built on openness, transparency, and sharing, and it will foster open communication and cooperation with other ecosystems for best results. Ecosystem consists of fuel manufacturers, energy producers, shipping companies, logistics providers, research organisations, regulatory bodies and more.
